ABNORMAL PERIODS

Q: I just recently stopped taking birth control in hopes of having a baby. I had my last period on Sept. 20 at the end of a pack. Two weeks later I went three days with a brown blood discharge and no cramps. I still have not had another period. Some cramping in my right side, higher abdomen. The last time I went off the pill I got an ovarian cyst. I use home ovulation kits but none have shown the hormone surge for ovulation. This is the first time I have been off the pill. I was wondering how much longer I should go before I see my doctor? I know it may take a while to be regular again, but how long is to long? Since I have had an ovarian cyst before, is it likely they will come monthly? Please advise.
